Slot Machines Paid Dann

Former Attorney Genera Jim Petro was adamant about the fact that video games and slot machines would not be allowed in the state when they were those that were considered illegal. Those video games that resemble slot machines were the subject of much discussion, as those that owned the games kept fighting Petro to be allowed to have them on their premises.

However, the climate has just gotten a lot warmer with his successor – Marc Dann. But some people have a problem with just how cozy Dann has been getting with them – for it turns out that those that manufacture the slot machine like devices gave money to cover the costs of Dann’s transition and inaugural events as he took office. Two slot machine manufacturers and their lawyer gave $5,000 each to his coffer; the maximum amount allowed by law.

Where Petro tried to keep out the video games and anything that sort of walked the line between what was legal and what wasn’t, as games of chance are illegal in the state. Petro had authorities remove the slot machine like games from establishments across the state. Dann has so far kept with the same game plan as Petro, but many want to know why they would contribute to his campaign unless they were sure they were getting something out of it.

Spokespeople for Dann say that the contributions will not sway the AG in any way, and those that made the contributions say that they only did it because they are lifelong democratic supporters. Those that have opposed slot machines in the state say that it was not appropriate for Dann to take the contributions as it gives the wrong impression.
